The Drifters LP Records and CDs
The Drifters are an influential American vocal group known for their blend of pop, R and B, and soul. Formed in 1953 as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter, they gained fame with a constantly changing lineup, especially after Ben E. King led a new incarnation of the group in 1959. Despite frequent member changes and various offshoots performing under different names, the Drifters produced a series of classic hits, including Money Honey, There Goes My Baby, Save the Last Dance for Me, and Under the Boardwalk. Their legacy spans multiple eras, with both the original and later lineups inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. The group found chart success in the United States and experienced a major revival in Britain during the 1970s.
