Banket was a Slovak pop band active from 1984 to 1991, led by singer Richard Müller. As pioneers of electronic pop in Slovakia and Czechoslovakia during the 1980s, Banket is often seen as Slovakia’s answer to Depeche Mode. They made their debut at the Bratislava Lyre festival in 1984 with the song "Nespoznaný." Their early electronic hits from 1984 and 1985 gained popularity but were not included on their more conventional debut album, Bioelektrovízia, released in 1986. Many of these early tracks were later featured on their 1994 greatest hits collection, Banket 84–91.
