Chic, later known as Nile Rodgers and Chic, is an influential American disco band formed in 1972 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards. Renowned for classic hits like Dance Dance Dance, Everybody Dance, Le Freak, I Want Your Love, and Good Times, Chic became one of the defining acts of the disco era. The band described themselves as a rock group for the disco scene, embodying ideals of peace, love, and freedom. In 2017, Chic received their eleventh nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
