Dance Gavin Dance is a rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2005. The current lineup features Will Swan on lead guitar, Matthew Mingus on drums, Jon Mess as harsh vocalist, and Andrew Wells on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. The band's lineup has frequently changed over the years, with former lead vocalists including Jonny Craig, Kurt Travis, and Tilian Pearson. Swan and Mingus are the only members to appear on every studio album. Known for their blend of post-hardcore, progressive rock, and experimental elements, Dance Gavin Dance debuted with the EP Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean in 2006 and went on to sign with Rise Records. They have released ten studio albums, including Downtown Battle Mountain, Mothership, Artificial Selection, and Jackpot Juicer. The band has achieved significant chart success, with four albums breaking into the top 20 of the US Billboard 200. Despite frequent lineup changes and the tragic loss of longtime bassist Tim Feerick in 2022, Dance Gavin Dance has remained a prominent and influential force in modern rock, earning a reputation for their energetic sound, technical musicianship, and dynamic dual vocal approach.
