Perry Farrell, born Peretz Bernstein in 1959, is an influential American singer, songwriter, and musician widely known as the Godfather of Alternative Music. He first emerged with the band Psi Com in the early 1980s and later became famous as the frontman of Jane's Addiction, a key force in shaping the alternative rock scene in Los Angeles with their bold mix of punk, metal, and psychedelic sounds. His energetic performances and innovative style helped define a generation of alternative music. In 1991, Farrell founded the Lollapalooza festival, which grew into one of the most prominent multi-genre music festivals worldwide. Beyond Jane's Addiction, he also led Porno for Pyros and pursued several other musical projects, including solo work, Kind Heaven Orchestra, Satellite Party, and Heaven After Dark, cementing his legacy as a creative pioneer in modern music.
