Onslaught is a thrash metal band from Bristol, England, formed in 1982. Emerging with roots in hardcore punk and the new wave of British heavy metal, they later became known for their aggressive thrash sound. Considered pioneers of British thrash, Onslaught is often named among the country's "Big Four" alongside Sabbat, Xentrix, and Acid Reign. After an initial run until 1991 and a return in 2005, the band has released eight studio albums and several live and compilation recordings, cementing their influence on the UK metal scene.
