Coven is an American rock band from Chicago, formed in the late 1960s. Best known for their top 40 hit "One Tin Soldier," featured in the film Billy Jack, Coven made a lasting impact with their pioneering use of occult themes and dark imagery in rock music. Featuring vocalist Jinx Dawson, bassist Greg Oz Osborne, guitarist Chris Neilsen, keyboardist Rick Durrett later John Hobbs, and drummer Steve Ross, Coven is also credited with introducing the "sign of the horns" gesture to rock and metal culture, notably on their 1969 debut album Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls.
