D'Addario PB056 Gitarstreng

D'Addario PB056 Phosphor Bronze Single String for Acoustic Guitar

The D'Addario PB056 is a single replacement string from the Phosphor Bronze Wound Singles line, designed specifically for acoustic guitar. At .056" gauge, it sits in the heavy-gauge range typically used for the low E or A position in custom or alternate tuning setups. The string features a hex-shaped steel core wrapped with corrosion-resistant phosphor bronze, producing the warm, bright, and well-balanced acoustic tone that has defined this series since its introduction in 1974. Whether a player needs to replace a worn low-end string or build a fully customized gauge set, this single string offers the same construction quality as D'Addario's full Phosphor Bronze string sets. All D'Addario strings are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA at the company's New York production facility.

Who Is This String For?

Heavy-gauge players and alternate-tuning enthusiasts will find the PB056 a practical replacement for worn low-end strings, particularly in drop D or DADGAD setups where a heavier low E improves tone and playability. Guitarists who prefer the warm, bright, and well-balanced acoustic character of D'Addario's Phosphor Bronze series will find this single string matches the tone and feel of the full sets. It also suits players building a custom light-top/heavy-bottom configuration, or anyone who wants to upgrade a single position without replacing an entire set. Made in the USA with the same quality standards as D'Addario's complete string sets, this single string delivers consistent performance for acoustic players at any skill level.
