Artwood Acoustic Guitar — Grand Concert Clarity with Open Pore Character

The Ibanez Artwood Acoustic Guitar 6-String Open Pore Antique White is a Grand Concert acoustic-electric designed for players who value tonal balance, playing comfort, and a natural aesthetic. Its solid Sitka spruce top and flamed maple back and sides work together to produce a voice that is articulate in the highs, warm through the mids, and controlled in the low end. Finished in open pore antique white, this instrument projects an understated, vintage-inspired appearance while allowing the soundboard to vibrate more freely than a heavy gloss coat would permit. The compact Grand Concert body sits comfortably in the lap, making long playing sessions less fatiguing. This Artwood model is the right choice for fingerstyle players, singer-songwriters, and recording musicians who need a responsive instrument with reliable onboard electronics.

What Sets This Artwood Apart

The pairing of a solid Sitka spruce top with flamed maple back and sides is a deliberate tonal choice — spruce provides headroom and dynamic range, while maple adds focus and visual depth. Beyond aesthetics, the open pore finish is an acoustic decision: by leaving the wood pores unsealed, the top responds more immediately to playing nuance. An Ibanez Custom preamp with a dedicated mute switch is a practical feature for performers who need to silence the signal between songs without reaching for the cable.

Solid Top Construction with Flamed Maple Back and Sides

The body materials define the fundamental voice of any acoustic guitar, and the tonewoods selected here complement each other across the frequency spectrum.

• Top Material: Solid Sitka Spruce — delivers a wide dynamic range with shimmering highs, clear mids, and a full-bodied low end
• Back & Sides: Flamed Maple — adds brightness, visual depth, and a focused tonal character
• Finish: Open Pore — leaves the wood pores unsealed so the top resonates more freely
• Solid Top construction — ensures the soundboard matures and opens up with playing time, a hallmark of solid-wood instruments that laminate tops cannot replicate

Maple Neck and Fingerboard for Smooth, Stable Playability

A comfortable neck profile and quality fingerboard material matter during long playing sessions, whether performing live or tracking in the studio.

• Neck Material: Maple — provides dimensional stability and a bright tonal contribution
• Fretboard Material: Maple — offers a smooth playing surface with crisp note attack
• Body Type: Grand Concert — a compact, ergonomic shape that sits comfortably and produces focused, balanced tone
• No cutaway — the traditional body shape preserves the full resonant chamber of the soundbox, giving the guitar its complete acoustic voice

Ibanez Custom Preamp with Practical Mute Control

For performers who need reliable amplified tone, the onboard electronics system delivers clean signal reproduction with stage-friendly controls.

• Preamp Electronics: Ibanez Custom — purpose-built for Ibanez acoustic instruments
• Mute control — allows silent tuning breaks between songs without unplugging, a practical feature for live performers managing signal flow on stage

Ideal for Fingerstyle Players, Singer-Songwriters, and Studio Musicians

The Grand Concert body shape makes this model well-suited for players who prefer a smaller, more intimate instrument that rewards a light touch. Fingerstyle players will appreciate the focused tone and the way the solid Sitka spruce top translates subtle dynamic variations into audible detail — every nail attack and string release comes through clearly. Singer-songwriters benefit from the balanced frequency response that sits well in a mix without overwhelming the vocal line, whether performing solo or with a full band. The Ibanez Custom preamp with mute control makes it practical for live performers who need quick signal management between sets, eliminating the need to unplug during tuning breaks. Studio musicians will find the open pore finish and solid top construction contribute to a natural, uncolored recording tone that requires minimal EQ adjustment. Intermediate and advancing players who want a stage-ready acoustic with a natural voice will find this instrument well matched to their needs.
