Released in 1965, the Mellotron MKII SFX console facilitated live dubbing of an enormous collection — 1260 in all — of the most popular sound effects for television and film, right from the Mellotron keyboard. Clever grouping of these recordings allowed you to generate an entire sequence by playing notes chromatically (e.g., footsteps approaching, car door opening and closing, engine starting, car driving away).
