TC Electronic FlashBack 2 Delay — Eight Algorithms, One Footswitch

The TC Electronic FlashBack 2 Delay combines delay, buffer, looper, and echo functions in one compact stompbox, packing eight studio-grade algorithms and TC's pressure-sensitive MASH footswitch. Stereo I/O, true-bypass switching, and an analogue dry signal path keep the tone chain clean for guitar, bass, and keys. The pedal supports wireless TonePrint preset loading via Bluetooth and runs on 9 V DC or battery power.

What separates this pedal from typical delay units is MASH pressure-sensitive switching combined with TC's TonePrint ecosystem. Leaning into the footswitch can boost feedback into self-oscillation on tape mode or sustain a held note on the 2290 setting. Delay Engine — Algorithms, Time, and Looper

The digital engine delivers up to 6000 ms of delay time, enough for rhythmic dotted-eighth patterns and long ambient tails. Eight factory algorithms cover the most-requested delay flavors, while a 40-second looper adds a recording layer for practice and live use. A front-panel subdivision switch snaps delay time to quarter, dotted-eighth, or eighth-note values relative to tapped tempo.

I/O and Signal Routing

Full stereo operation is built in, with two 6.3 mm jack inputs and two 6.3 mm jack outputs that preserve ping-pong imaging. The second input doubles as a tap-tempo input when running mono. An internal dip switch selects true bypass or buffered bypass, letting the unit also serve as a signal buffer.
