Latone LFL 600 Obsidian Silver Konsertfløyte

The Latone LFL 600 Obsidian Silver concert flute pairs a white-copper body with closed keys and an Offset G system for players stepping into advanced repertoire. Its obsidian-and-silver finish reads well under stage lighting, while the included hard case and cleaning kit let musicians keep the instrument road-ready straight out of the box.

  • White-copper body delivers a fuller, more resonant core tone than standard nickel-silver student flutes
  • Closed (plateau) keys give precise articulation and a quieter, more controlled key action
  • Offset G configuration places the G key where the right-hand index finger naturally rests, reducing strain during long sessions
  • Comes with hard case, cleaning cloth, cleaning rod, and screwdriver for immediate setup and maintenance

Concert Flute with White-Copper Body and Closed Keys

The Latone LFL 600 Obsidian Silver is a concert flute tuned in C, built around a white-copper body that produces a fuller, more resonant tone than the nickel-silver student models it sits above. Closed keys, an Offset G layout, and a stage-ready obsidian-and-silver finish make it a practical step up for advancing students and ensemble players. Ships with a hard case, cleaning cloth, cleaning rod, and screwdriver so it is ready to play and maintain from day one.

White-Copper Body and Closed Plateau Keys

Most concert flutes in this tier use nickel-silver; this model instead uses white copper for the body, a denser alloy that adds warmth and projection to the core sound. Closed (plateau) keys cover the tone holes with solid cups rather than open rings, giving the player a quieter key click, more consistent pad sealing, and a more controlled feel on fast passages. These two choices push the LFL 600 into a more serious performance bracket than its price suggests.

Body and Construction — Materials That Shape the Tone

The body material is the biggest determinant of how a concert flute sounds and feels. White copper sits between standard nickel silver and solid silver in density and tonal character, giving players a warmer core with more body in the lower register without the price jump to sterling.

  • Body Material: White Copper — denser than nickel silver, adds warmth and projection to the core tone
  • Finish: Obsidian Silver with silver keys — dark stage-ready look that hides wear from handling
  • Country of Manufacture: China

Key System and Ergonomics — How the Flute Feels Under the Fingers

The key layout determines how comfortable the flute is to hold and how cleanly each note speaks. Offset G and closed keys are the ergonomic choices most often requested by advancing players moving up from beginner instruments.

  • Key System: Offset G — places the G key where the right-hand index finger naturally rests, reducing hand fatigue
  • Key Style: Closed (plateau) keys — quieter action, more consistent pad sealing, easier for smaller hands
  • Tuning: C — standard concert pitch used by school bands, orchestras, and chamber ensembles

Package and Accessories — Everything Needed to Start Playing

A flute that arrives without a case and cleaning tools forces the buyer to add accessories. This bundle ships with the maintenance essentials so the instrument stays protected and playable from the first rehearsal.

  • Case Included: Hard case — protects the flute during transport and storage
  • Cleaning Cloth: Included — for wiping moisture from the body after each session
  • Cleaning Rod: Included — for clearing condensation from the headjoint
  • Screwdriver: Included — for adjusting key screws and minor maintenance

Advancing Students and Ensemble Players on a Realistic Budget

This flute is the right choice for advancing students, adult learners returning to the instrument, and ensemble players who need a reliable C-tuning concert flute with closed keys and an Offset G layout. Buyers who have outgrown a beginner nickel-silver flute will appreciate the white-copper body's fuller tone, while the closed keys suit players with smaller hands or anyone preferring a quieter key action. Reviews on retailer sites compare the sound favorably to entry-level instruments from established brands such as Thomann and Yamaha, and the included hard case plus cleaning kit removes the need for accessory buys.

Latone — A Concert Flute Line Built Around White Copper

Latone positions the LFL 600 as a step-up concert flute, distinguished from entry-level student models by the white-copper body and closed-key mechanism. The Obsidian Silver finish is one of several color variants in the LFL 600 range, alongside Silver Royalty, Silver Elegance, and Ivory Grace, giving players a choice of stage appearance without changing the underlying specification. Customer feedback across European retailers rates the model highly for sound, appearance, and ease of handling, noting it suits beginners moving up and experienced players seeking a dependable secondary flute.
