Marián Varga (1947–2017) was a Slovak musician, composer, and organist, recognized as a key figure in Czech-Slovak music in the second half of the 20th century. After joining the band Prúdy in 1967 and co-creating the influential album Zvoňte, zvonky, he went on to found Collegium musicum in 1969, blending classical and rock influences. With landmark albums such as Konvergencie and Zelená pošta, Varga helped shape the foundation of progressive rock in the region. His work is noted for its innovation and boundary-pushing style in both classical and experimental music.
