Universal primer. Transparent gesso is used as a universal primer for painting. It is ideal for preparing canvas and other dust-free absorbent materials before painting. The primer dries in a few hours and after 24 hours the surface is ready for painting. It is water soluble and can be tinted with acrylic paints or inks. Once dry, the surface is matt and porous, which improves its adhesion.
