Alexander Giannascoli, known professionally as Alex G, is an American musician, producer, and singer-songwriter. Emerging from Philadelphia’s DIY scene, he began sharing home-recorded albums on Bandcamp as a teenager before earning critical attention with his label debut DSU in 2014. Since then, Alex G has released a string of acclaimed albums, including Beach Music, Rocket, House of Sugar, and God Save the Animals, blending indie rock with experimental and lo-fi influences. He has frequently collaborated with filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun, composing scores for their films. During live shows, Alex G is joined by bandmates Sam Acchione on guitar, John Heywood on bass, and Tom Kelly on drums. His most recent album, Headlights, was released in 2025.
