Derek & the Dominos
Derek and the Dominos was an English-American blues rock band formed in 1970 by Eric Clapton, Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle, and Jim Gordon. The members had previously played together with Delaney and Bonnie and Friends and brought together influences from their work with bands like Blind Faith. The group is best known for their album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, produced by Tom Dowd and featuring strong contributions from guitarist Duane Allman. Although the record was initially overlooked, it later received critical acclaim and became famous for the song Layla, inspired by Clapton's love for Pattie Boyd. Today, the album is recognized as a landmark in Clapton's career and in classic rock history.
