Josefin Winther, born in 1986 in Bergen, is a Norwegian artist and songwriter known for her emotional songwriting and diverse musical style. She began her career with a self-titled EP in 2006 after signing with the Bergen-based label Your Favourite Music. Her debut album, Be Proud or Stay Out of It, was released in 2008 and received strong reviews for its uncompromising rock sound. After starting her own label, she explored new musical directions, releasing the single The Size of the Dog in 2009.
Winther’s second album, Raising Armies, came out in 2011 and marked a shift towards a more acoustic and layered sound. The same year, she appeared on Norwegian television as a contestant in Det store korslaget. As a songwriter, she achieved recognition with the song Silent Storm, performed by her cousin Carl Espen at Eurovision Song Contest 2014, where the song placed eighth in the final. Winther continued to develop her solo career, releasing the single Last Amends in 2014 and the album Flowers in 2015, further showcasing her growth as an artist.
