The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is a leading British symphony orchestra based in London. Founded in 1946 by Thomas Beecham, the orchestra quickly gained recognition through major performances and successful recording contracts. Despite facing challenges after Beecham's death, the orchestra overcame a period of uncertainty and secured its future with public support. Since 2004, the orchestra’s home has been Cadogan Hall in Chelsea, and it also performs regularly at renowned venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall, as well as throughout the UK and internationally. Vasily Petrenko has served as musical director since 2021.
