Louis Andrew Donaldson Jr. (1926–2024) was a prominent American jazz alto saxophonist celebrated for his soulful and blues-infused style. Early in his career, he drew inspiration from Charlie Parker and the bebop movement, but later became known for his distinctive blend of blues and jazz, which helped shape modern jazz saxophone playing.
