Mungo Jerry is a British rock band formed in 1970 by Ray Dorset in Ashford, Middlesex. Best known for their hit "In the Summertime," which sold millions of copies worldwide, the band found major success in the early 1970s. With a lineup that often changed but was always led by Dorset, Mungo Jerry achieved nine charting singles in the UK, including two number ones, and also enjoyed chart success in South Africa and Canada.
