Sonny Terry, born Saunders Terrell, was an influential American Piedmont blues and folk musician active through much of the twentieth century. Renowned for his lively harmonica playing, he added excitement to his performances with expressive whoops, hollers, and realistic sound imitations of trains and fox hunts. His unique style made him a key figure in both blues and folk music scenes.
