Tijs Michiel Verwest, known professionally as Tiësto, is a Dutch DJ and record producer widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in electronic dance music. Often called the Godfather of EDM, he has been named "The Greatest DJ of All Time" by Mix magazine and voted "best DJ of the last 20 years" by DJ Mag readers. Tiësto began his career in the late 1990s, founding Black Hole Recordings and releasing acclaimed series like Magik and In Search of Sunrise. He gained global attention with his remix of Delerium's "Silence" and released his debut album In My Memory in 2001. Tiësto was voted World No. 1 DJ for three consecutive years from 2002 to 2004.
