All inputs are galvanically isolated and the USB input even has its own power supply. The power supply of the Pro iDSD is a very high-quality linear iPower that has been specially developed for the Pro iDSD. The user has a choice of single-ended and balanced (4.4mm) headphone outputs, and single-ended or balanced line outputs with a fixed or variable output. There is a choice of a solid-state, tube and tube+ audio circuit. In addition, you can use the Pro iDSD as a DLNA streamer and it has an Airplay receiver for streaming from Apple devices.

Tube/ Solid-State Real-time Switching
Compared to high-end headphone amplifiers, the tube stage of the Pro iDSD is different in two-ways. It doesn’t use good-quality 6922s or similar. Instead it uses the very best, General Electric 5670 which is the premium variant with a different pinout.

The iDSD Pro uses a iFi Bit-Perfect DSD and DXD DACs by Burr-Brown in a custom configuration. This enables a total of eight pairs of differential signals to be used and mixed – four pairs of signals per channel.
