Sheets of music. Bohuslav Martinů wrote the two volumes of songs from Moravian folk poetry with piano accompaniment during World War II. Through the miniature of song, all the intimacy of home comes to life, and Martinů, thousands of miles away in American exile, turns to it time after time. The songs are technically accessible to all amateur singers, while their grace and beauty have secured them a place in the repertoire of concert singers. The lyrics of the seven songs in this edition are set in Czech and English.
