DYNACORD SL 1200 power amplifier

Following the success of the S series, Dynacord decided to innovate and expand the series.

The new line of SL series amplifiers from the German manufacturer DYNACORD is coming to the market equipped with patented LPN circuits, which have so far only equipped amplifiers in PowerMate mixing consoles. These circuits significantly improve the sound delivery of small system subwoofers, co-creating the typical DYNACORD SOUND. The result is the SL series of 2U amplifiers with a dual source, which is, as usual at Dynacord, 30% oversized.
The goal of the German designers was not only to achieve top sound quality and high reliability, which is an unwritten standard for Dynacord amplifiers, but also to achieve the lowest possible weight and the lowest possible price.
The design of the SL series power amplifiers is based on more than 60 years of DYNACORD experience in the design of amplifiers.
The Dynacord SL series contains classic power supplies with a toroidal transformer.
All sources are oversized by 30% in order to achieve the highest possible dynamics (dynamic power reserve is 30% higher than the specified rated power) and offer perfect sound at an excellent price. In addition to all common protections (thermal, short-circuit, against DC voltage at the output, delay relays at the output), they are also equipped with an inrush current limiter when switching on.
On the back wall of these amplifiers, in addition to the standard switches (GROUNDED - UNGROUNDED and DUAL - PARALLEL), there is also a LPN (Low-pass notch) switch, which Dynacord has patented. LPN increases dynamics at low frequencies. This function is suitable for small speakers or those that lack bass.
The input level control potentiometers are located on the front wall and are calibrated in dB. The output voltage is controlled by a dynamic limiter, which compares the input and output signals and limits the input signal within 3 milliseconds when nonlinearity is detected.
